“Live your life, Quinn. Every minute of it. Don’t drift through it—live it.”

Pancakes, Pickleball, the best Grandma, and an adorable baby cow. I mean..who wouldn’t want to read this book? Especially if you love a sweet YA romance with a great supporting cast. And if you are into D&D, that’s even better!⁣ Dating and Dragons checks all the boxes.

@kristylboyce does it again! I absolutely devoured Dungeons and Drama and couldn’t wait to break into Dating and Dragons. I picked up the beautiful B&N Exclusive Edition with the deep purple and gold foil letters, and I love it. I’m a sucker for a well-done cover. ⁣If you can’t get your hands on this version, the original comes in a light blue cover, which is equally as pretty.

Quinn Norton is starting over at a new high school and hopes that joining a D&D game will help her forget her past drama with her old group and help her make friends. But she didn’t expect a D&D campaign that includes live streaming, a no-dating-other-group members rule, and a cute and charming boy, Logan Weber, who she can’t stop thinking about. Add in a meddling grandma—who thinks Logan and Quinn are perfect for each other—and you get a heartfelt story that’s also fun to read!

This brings me to the first location of importance: The School Parking Lot

Quinn and her family have moved to a small town in Ohio to be closer to her grandma. On the first day of school, her grandma insists on driving Quinn to school and much to Quinns embarrassment, her Grandma finds the cutest boy in the parking lot, Logan, to take their picture. There is an instant spark between Logan and Quinn, and this interaction leads to Quinn being invited to a new D&D group. The school parking lot is one of the most important locations in the entire book, because without this scene, Quinn might never have spoken with Logan or any of the other members of the D & D group.

One of my favorite, and sweetest moments in the book, is when Logan invites Quinn to his farm to meet their calf, Susie Q. The scene comes right after their game of impromptu pickleball that Quinns Grandma insisted they play. (She has a important supporting role throughout this entire story-constantly trying to force them together) Quinn and Logans banter is adorable and in my opinion this is the point of no return for them, when they realize this game of keep away isn’t going to work anymore. I think Quinn can really start to see herself in Logans world, especially after he shows her his “Shed” where he keeps all his plans for the next D&D game.
